WEDDING INVITES!

wow... so I haven't updated in a LONG time!! so here we go! hopefully over the next few days I will update what I have been working on. I finished up my coursework at SFASU and am just waiting patiently until August to receive my diploma. A week after graduation I am getting married! woo!!!! Since I am planning for my wedding, I have been really inspired by wedding invitations and creative designs. Possible career? That would be awesome! Let me know if you are interested in custom wedding invites! I have looked around in stores and can't tell you how disappointed I am in the designs. So hopefully I could change this. The invite contains an invitation, map, and postcard RSVP card all held together by a yellow wrap that I designed. I wanted it to be fun, contemporary, typography focused and light-hearted. Let me know what ya think.

DOWN TO EARTH

YAY! This was a project from my first graphic design class about 3 years ago. That was my first go around at graphic design and it was pretty bad. So... I decided to redo my logo so I could use it in my portfolio now. Our project was to design a logo for an organic food store, then create an organic coffee advertisement for the store as well as a shopping bag. So now my next goal is to redo those projects as well. The color is a little bit more green than what shows here.

UPDATE ON PHOTOS

I <3 TYPOGRAPHY

I have wanted to do a typography portrait for a few years, but it was one of those things I never actually sat down to do. So finally I was bored today and did it! It didn't take near as long as I suspected. (only a few hours) I am thinking of using this as the poster for my BFA show... which isn't for another semester.

ALTERNATIVE LIGHTING

this week in my photo class we had an assignment about alternative lighting. We had to use 2 different sources of light. At first, I wasn't too excited about this project. I thought that it was limiting our creativity by putting that limitation on there. BUT, I am glad I did it and stuck it through! It put me out of my comfort zone, and made me try new techniques. Now I am excited about lighting, and think it makes a photograph look so much better! Anyways... here is what I came up with. You can click the image to view a larger version.

BANANORAMA

Bananorama-panorama! I have been working on panoramas lately... and this is the best one that came out. I really struggled with this assignment because you take multiple images (this one is 32 images) to develop your panorama. It is tough because as you are taking photos, it is hard to see what the final compilation of photos will look like together. Because of this it is hard to tell what the composition will end up looking like. The method that I took was to just take wayyyyy too many photos, to make sure I got all of the information I could possibly need, then I crop it later in photoshop.

I took this panorama in Bryan/College Station at a coffee shop called Revolution. It has this really cool mural that mimics a Van Gogh painting. The colors are off again... it doesn't look as washed out when printed or not compressed. Here it is, let me know what ya think:
